We were delighted to be part of the brilliant Northern Ireland Science Festival this year. In a three part documentary series entitled "Past, Present and Future of Linen in NI", we were given the opportunity to discuss our journey into flax growing and linen processing.
You can see the scutching mill here at the farm in County Tyrone and the amazing Mackies machine that we are restoring.
You will also hear about how we are working hard to ensure our flax growing methods are sustainable and environmentally responsible.
You can watch the film on the NI Science Festival YouTube channel here
The two other films give a wonderful insight into the industry, past and present.
Episode 1 features the Irish Linen Centre where we can learn about the impressive history of the famous Hilden Mill, home of Barbour Threads.
Episode 2 features William Clark and Sons and their beautiful Beetling Machine, one of the only commercial beetling machines still in use today.
There are over 100 events in the festival this year, which runs from 15th to 28th February.
